Key problems seem to be, world climate change, rising oil prices, lack of international law, poverty in 80% of the world, excessive debt, instability of markets, loss of stable employment and I'm sure you can make up your own. [Added 2008] The present financial crisis is caused by these closely connected problems, and the lack of any resolution of them. I might add as nodes in the diagram, lack of democracy, corruption, propaganda of the airwaves, and the lack of global governance.
